An Ode to Analogue
'A Million Times' is an installation of 288 analogue clocks which have been rigged to rotate in stunning synchronicity to celebrate the beauty of old fashioned time keeping and create some very appealing patterns in the process. Click on the picture above to watch the short, but rather hypnotic (with the addition of a soaring soundtrack) video.
The clocks are all connected and controlled via an iPad, but rotate independently and at the end of the sequence display the current time. The bold monochrome patterns remind me a bit of British op-artist Bridget Riley whose work looked like it was moving, even though it wasn't. Created by two Stockholm-based creative types who go by the name of Humans Since 1982 it will be on show at Design Days Dubai later this month.
With thanks to Protein where I first saw this vid.
